Teaching Pattern & Rules Age:


The mimimum age to start dance is 6 years completed. Kids under that age can attend theory classes where the students will learn the contents of Natya shastra and Abhinaya Darpanam (science of dance).

Levels of learning:
Beginners: Students learn basic and advanced steps in this level.
Student usually takes 12 to 18monts to graduate from this level.

Intermediate: Student learns complicated combinations of steps called Jathis. Jathis are divided into:1.Chaturasrajathi jathis (12 jathis), followed by 1st item. 2. Thisra & misra jathi (8 jathis), followed by 2nd item. 3. Khanda & Sankeerna jathi jathis(4 jathis), followed by 3rd item. To graduate from this level the student takes about 2-3 yrs.

Advanced: This level starts from the 4th item and moves on to complicate items. This level as such does not have any limit, but to finish students need to complete at least one item in each category of Kuchipudi dance form. Usually takes a minimum of 3-4 yrs (8-12 items).

Graduation: After finishining the advanced level the student is eligible form Rangapravesam (graduation debut of solo performance). When students are ready for this graduation will be announced one year prior to the event date. Theory Classes: Along with the regular dance classes, theory classes will be scheduled, where the students will learn the contents of Natya shastra and Abhinaya Darpanam (science of dance).
All the material required will be provided. Theory classes are divided to 4 levels. Students will be promoted to the next level on successfully completing their level.
In completion of all 4 levels student will be awarded a graduation certificate with a title.

Note:Duration of training in each level may vary form student to student depending on their personal abilities and hard work. Dress code: Beginners: Sweat pants or comfortable caprice weth loose/comfortable tops. Beginners who are 11 years or older should wear chudedar(pajama & shirt) with chunni (scarf). Note: camisoles, spaghetti straps, shorts & skirts are not allowed.
